Working on a racing engine, it is sometimes necessary to adjust the cylinder height in order to adjust the squish clearance, to obtain the right compression in the combustion chamber, or to optimize the valve timing.
That’s why Athena technicians developed the Race Gasket Kit, the engine gasket kit which covers all the most popular Motocross
and Enduro applications on the market, both 2T and 4T.
The kit includes a cylinder head gasket and two cylinder base gaskets, one with the thickness same as the OEM component, and the other with a reduced thickness of 0.1 mm.
Athena has studied for each application the OEM engine to create gaskets which carefully respect the tight parameters imposed by the manufacturers.
Athena gaskets have low moisture absorption, maximum mechanical strength, resistance to oils and petrol, resistance to high temperatures and pressures, ease of installation and removal: extra silicone-based sealants are not indeed required to ensure perfect sealing.
After carrying out in-depth analyzes, the R&D department identifies the critical areas where to eventually apply further anti-wear and sealing treatments, such as silicone beading, which avoid the risk of leakage.
The technicians furthermore identify the most suitable material thanks to a solid know-how and over 40 years of experience in the production of gasket and sealing materials: whether it’s rubberized sheet metal, other asbestos-free materials, or Motorgasket®, the exclusive material created and patented by the Athena Group research laboratories, all the gaskets always ensure a perfect seal even when undergoing extreme mechanical and thermal stress, such as when competing.
The result? An effective, resistant, and reliable gasket kit which allows to get the best result for the engine setting - and all this at very competitive price.
